SO LONG URBAN MEYER, WELCOME WILL MUSCHAMP (P)

The Florida Gators said goodbye to Urban Meyer yesterday with a victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions, ushering out one of the most prolific coaches in college history...  The Gators were 65-15 under Coach Meyer with 2 National Championships... Although the 8-5 season was somewhat of a disappointment in latter day standards, I remember when we would have given our eye teeth for an 8-5 record... (yes, I was a Gator when being a Gator wasn't cool) 

Welcome Will Muschamp, hopefully the last Gator head coach I'll ever have to relate to... I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about you, but I did read about what you referred to as "The Gator Way"... This is said to be an effort to make sure your athletes graduate and more importantly are model citizens... May I applaud you for this endeavor... This is in no way a slam on Coach Meyer, but during his tenure, there were 30 arrests involving 27 different players... That legacy was reserved for the Florida State Seminoles (aka Florida State Criminals) when it was jokingly said "if two people are in a car and one is a Seminole, who's driving? The cop"...

Now let me give you some advice... (don't worry, as in any good armchair quarterback, it's free)

1. There are rumors that John Brantley wants to transfer, let him...
2. Let Jordan Reed workout with the quarterbacks instead of tight ends...
3. Trey Burton needs to throw the ball once in a while, just to keep them honest...
4. Allow Chris Rainey and Jeffery Demps (should they return) to get outside, as we all know "Speed Kills"
5. Charlie Weis would be an excellent choice for offensive coordinator, hopefully in the order of Dan Mullen...

HAPPY NEW YEAR (P)

I promised that I would get back to blogging in The New Year, so here goes... Allow me first and foremost to thank all of you who so kindly sent your well wishes, thoughts and prayers over the past few months, as they have been difficult at best and trying in many ways... Let me say, things are looking up in the new year... I'm in no way out of the woods financially, but the prospects are looking better for the company I work for and my beloved (T) in the lack of the real estate market is starting not one, but two part time jobs which will allow us to keep the wolves at bay...

I'm not going to reflect on the year that was, instead I'm choosing to concentrate on the year ahead of us...
(Most of these have transpired in the recent days, but will affect us in the New Year)

Here are a few random thoughts...

1. Janet Napolitano is out of the country, now would be a really good time to secure the borders, I mean really secure the borders... Sorry "Big Sis" you can't come back...
2. B.O. has announced that he wants to headquarter his reelection campaign in Chicago, seems he wants to run as a "Washington Outsider"... I think we should grant him his wish and insure the fact that he remains a Washington outsider, preferably as a private citizen...
3. The United States secretly helped the Russian government take possession of enough enriched uranium from the Ukraine to build two nuclear weapons... Looks like that S.T.A.R.T. is working really well, while Russia is in the process of helping Iran fuel their supposed nuclear power plants... OOOPS!!!!
4. B.O. has turned his focus on creating jobs... I feel better already...
5. Looks like Eric Holder is going to get help trying enemy combatants in civilian courts after B.O.'S latest recess appointment of James Cole as Deputy Attorney General... Seems this appointment was needed as Cole failed to get approval  from the Senate Judiciary Committee after his past consulting work with bailed-out insurance giant AIG... Cole so aptly considers terrorists to be in the same criminal realm as drug dealers...
6. I've got to disagree with Charles Krauthammer (which is rare, as we quadriplegics should stick together) and side with Art Laffer, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell in the absolute need to defund Obama Care... We must at every chance pull the funding from this travesty until we dethrone Obummer so we can repeal it entirely without the threat of a veto... 
7. Not that we're going to relax, but we need to hold Congress to their pledge to cut spending... No more defficit spending CAPEESH!!! (that's the 10% Italian running through my veins)
8. Now for the really important stuff, my GATORS need to take care of Penn State today, not only to send Urban Meyer out with a victory, but to welcome in new head coach Will Muschamp... GO GATORS!!!

WHAT CAN I DO? (P)

When it comes to affecting change in our country I'm often asked, "what can I do, I'm just one person?"... It is this attitude that got us in the mess we're in and I for one, know that when one person makes up their mind to affect change, they can do just that... The name George Soros comes to mind... This is why we must not think that just because we had relatively good results in the last election that everything is fine... One way we can keep the ball rolling is by writing our elected officials reminding them that they work for us and should reflect our wishes in their votes on Capital Hill... The following is an example of a letter written by one of our members concerning the "Dream Act"... Please feel free to copy and send this letter or pick your own topic and write about it...

Dear Senator,

Please vote NO on the DREAM Act, S. 3827. This Act stands in direct opposition to the wishes of a huge majority of American voters – voters like me who have most recently voiced our opinions, exercised our rights, lived up to our responsibilities by voting and have thrown out legislators who, for the last few years, have been stomping on the will of the people and kicking the Constitution when it’s down! My objections to this Act are many. I feel strongly that it must be defeated.

• S. 3827 is not limited to amnesty for children, only one amendment limits the age to 35.
• Act incentivizes “chain migration”, creating untold numbers of legal immigrants who initially came here illegally.
• Act will require funding for implementation from taxpayers, including legal immigrants, instead of fees from the applicants.
• Act protects any illegal alien who applies regardless of illegitimacy of the application.
• Act makes criminal illegal aliens eligible for amnesty.
• Act gives illegal aliens in-state tuition and other federal funding benefits.
• Act does not require military service; a legal path to citizenship is already in place for the military.
• Act prevents DHS from using information gathered during the application process to initiate removal proceedings or investigation and prosecution of fraud by those whose applications are denied.

Senator, please, carefully consider the implications and ramifications, consequences, both intended and unintended, of this nightmare bill.
Please vote NO on the DREAM Act that most Americans see as a violation of the basic tenets of our Constitutional Republic and our founding principles.

POTUS COULD SCREW UP A WET DREAM (P)

The trade agreement with South Korea was a slam dunk until Obama started trying to bring in provisions to benefit his buddies in the labor unions...

If you've been watching Glenn lately, you'll know what I 'm referring to when I say "the masks are coming off"... These progressive socialists aren't even trying to hide anymore and know in their heart of hearts that the gig is up and the American public will no longer allow them to hide in the shadows like roaches who scatter when the light is turned on... This man is bought and paid for by big labor and the scum of the earth dirt bag George Soros... While Soros is trying to insure an orderly decline in the U.S. dollar in his effort to destroy this countries standing as the most powerful nation on earth, the labor unions are desperately trying to insure that capitalism and the free market system fails... This was never more evident than their 10/2/10 rally in Washington where by the unions and every socialist / communist organization in the country tried how ever so pitifully to display their unity... I will be the first to admit that there was a time and need for unions in this country... THAT SHIP HAS SAILED... When Andy Stern (past head of SEIU) says "workers of the world unite" (taken directly from the communist manifesto) "it's not just a slogan, but the way we must do our work" it's time to put an end to the unions... No longer are there sweatshops in this country, instead these unions have grown into unsustainable entities that are sucking the life out of not only companies, but municipalities and states...

This country can no longer prosper by being consumers and only consumers, we must get back to manufacturing and being the world's leader in innovation... The "Big Government" agencies designed to keep us safe (the EPA comes to mind) combined with unsustainable union pensions have made it impossible for U.S. companies to compete in the global market... Screw the notion of a "Green Economy" which has been documented to cost two jobs for every one it creates... I'm not a freaking genius, but even I can see this is not the direction we should be heading... There are literally trillions of dollars currently being held outside of this country that are begging to come back and create jobs should the powers that be decide to remove their heads from their posteriors and reduce tax rates... The idiots the likes of Pelosi and Reid can't figure out the fact that if the unemployment (that's hitting close to home here) number was reduced from 9.6% to 3% or 4% the amount of revenue coming into the Federal Government's coffers via the existing tax structure would far outweigh the benefit from taxing those that make more than $250,000.00 a year... My next big initiative would be to make every American pay some form of income tax... When 50% of this country doesn't pay any tax on their income is it any wonder that they have no interest in how "Fedzilla" (got to give acknowledgement to brother Ted) spends the money... They might help stop the ridiculous spending if they had a vested interest in the federal budget... My ideal fix would be a "Fair Tax" but that's another post...

IT'S OFFICIALLY A DEPRESSION (P)

If the old saying "If your neighbor loses his job, it's a recession, but if you lose your job it's a depression"... It's officially a depression...

God bless you Fuzzy, as this is something that was inspired by your thoughtful inquiry on my last post... This is in no way shape or form an attempt to gain sympathy from anyone, but more of a kicking of myself in the ass and getting on with the task at hand...

The lack of Obama's ability to help this country recover from the downturn in the economy has hit really close to home... I have been blessed to have been employed by a truly wonderful company for the past twenty one years... My two bosses / owners called me into the conference room the end of September and were basically ready to cheat in an effort to keep the company going, as they have poured every last dime of their life's savings into the company over the last three years... They easily could have walked away sitting pretty and left the hundred plus employees hanging, but that is not in these gentlemen's DNA... I myself being a huge follower of Glenn Beck realised that asking these men to somehow compromise their integrity was not the HONORABLE thing to do and HONOR has to be restored in this great country so we can continue to be great... I went home and discussed it with my beloved (T) and came up with this plan of attack... In as much as I'm for the most part, the estimating department for the company, I decided to take enough money out of my 201K (used to be a 401k) to last until the first of the year... I still go into the office every day and estimate trying to secure enough work to not only keep the doors open, but to enable the company to put me back on the payroll... I'm sure that what I am doing is not 100% Kosher, but it's not asking anyone to compensate me off the books... I must say that come the first of the year if things don't improve, I'm going to have to seek employment elsewhere and the knowledge of my leaving the company will not help their chances of survival...

The fact that I'm a 60 year old quadriplegic may have some bearing on my ability to gain employment, but I assure you it won't slow me down in my effort... I have never considered myself handicapped and choose the description "Slightly Inconvenienced" and anyone who knows me knows that I'll never give up or give in... If that were my stile, I'd have done it back in 1987...

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, I'm ready to kick some ass and take some names... Our turnout and subsequent victories last Tuesday was a good start, but it's going to take a great deal more than that to get this country back from the edge of the cliff... I truly love what Marco Rubio said, "this was not a mandate for the Republican party, but a second chance"... We need to return to our conservative values... Capitalism and The Free Market System are what made us the greatest country on the planet and a return to it will have the same result...

THE TRUTH ABOUT GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE (P)

This is over ten minutes long, but I urge you to watch this video... It is not a matter of whether we repeal this OBAMANATION, but rather the fact that we must repeal this assault on our freedom...
